HLB is close to its clients – all across Germany
The globalisation of business, together with some spectacular corporate
crises in the past, have increasingly changed the market conditions and
working environment for auditors and tax consultants. Since 1972 the
independent auditing and tax consultancy firms have combined under the
umbrella of the HLB cooperation in Germany to
form a national network with a view to meetingthe growing demands of their customers with regards national and
international expertise. Members regularly swap ideas, complying with
uniform quality standards and participating in specialist work
groups.
The partners of the HLB network are among the first auditing companies in Germany to have successfully completed the quality control in line with Section 57a et seq. of the WPO (German Auditors’ Code) (Peer Review) as early as 2002 in order to obtain the certification as required by law to handle seal-bearing audit assignments as per Section 2 para. 1 of the WPO. Dr. Dienst & Partner also successfully took part in the quality control system over the next few years. Furthermore, several of our partners are qualified as quality control auditors as per Section 57a of the WPO.
On this basis, the German HLB partners have set standards for their work that go beyond the statutory requirements and are laid down in a jointly approved quality manual, e.g. the offices have agreed upon a common approach for auditing and documentation. As a result, the HLB partners can have joint access to specialists. Given that work practices are comparable everywhere, less time is required for training. There is also collective knowledge management, whereby each network partner benefits from the expertise of others with uniformly documented best practice examples.
The HLB network organises joint ongoing training for its staff while
internal working groups discuss the latest specialist issues. All HLB
partners use joint IT platforms and auditing software in order to
standardise processes and reduce costs.
Personal, entrepreneurial commitment of partners and staff at each
independent office, a sound understanding of the issues at hand,
particularly medium-sized businesses, professionalism, expertise and
worldwide connections. This is what makes the German HLB partners stand
out from the crowd.
